Sometimes an amazing opportunity comes out of the blue. What do you do with them? I am sure that you are yelling out, “You take them, of course!” and I completely agree. But there was a time where I would have run from them with excuses. Whether you run, tackle them or somewhere in between, here is my take on them now.
You take the opportunity at your feet no matter what mountains you have to move out of the way.
Last Wednesday, Jen Kiaba sent me a private message via Facebook to provide me with some good feedback and in our conversation she asked me if I would be interested in being a part of her Thursday Q&A. She asked if I happened to be free for the one happening the following day or if I wasn’t free a future one. I seized the opportunity while it was right there. I had a regular vet check-up scheduled for my cat that I moved. Additionally, I cleared my Wednesday afternoon schedule and proceeded to pour out my heart on paper.
The topic of my call was “Becoming a Full Time Artist”. Jen provided me with a series of questions to go over. You see, I have been artistic my whole life but never until now had I tried to pursue art “full-time”. To be honest, I was a bit terrified. I’ve really only been on this full-time path for about 2.5 months. But, I shook off my fear demon and got to work. I KNOW I have a lot of valuable experience, do’s and don’ts to share. Plus, the opportunity to share about my journey and path is a DREAM for me. I literally have written on my vision board under Dream Job: “Motivational Speaking and Art”.
I want to sincerely thank Jen Kiaba for this amazing opportunity. I am so beyond grateful to be able to share of myself and my journey with other creatives. Thank you to everyone who tuned in and shared their feedback. I was blown away <3
